Teacher Testimonials

Learn what some of the teachers have said:

"Just a quick note to announce that the Water Audits went quite well. The kids were great and fully understood both the practice of conducting the Water Audits and figuring out the math involved."

Watershed Gardens

Watershed Gardens is a long-term water conservation education program for 4th – 6th grade teachers and students. Schools are recruited in the spring for participation during the following academic year.

The program has three parts for teachers and students to implement that Homewaters assists with: School Water Audits, Drought-Tolerant Gardens, and Community Education.

This program allows students to:

  • Learn about how water is used at school and how to measure it.

  • Design, plant and maintain a drought-tolerant garden at their school to conserve water.

  • Develop knowledge of the ways that water can be conserved at school and at home.

  • Educate the community (other students, teachers, parents) on ways to conserve water.

The creation of this project was made possible, in part, through SPLASH, Water Quality Education, the King County Water Quality Block Grant awarded by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks.
