Thornton Creek Long WalkAn Urban Hike Through Seattle's Largest WatershedEven in urban settings, nature persists beneath our feet and in front of our eyes. Participants in the popular Thornton Creek Long Walks explore the ecology, history, and current issues of Seattle's largest watershed by walking the entire length of this diverse creek. Guided by Homewaters' staff, Long Walkers engage in their place in a way few residents of Seattle have. The 7-mile South Fork Long Walk begins at Northgate Mall and ends at Matthews Beach Park on Lake Washington. The North Fork Long Walk begins in Shoreline at Ronald Bog Park, for nearly 10 miles of urban hiking! Both offer a unique perspective into this ever-changing watershed. Be prepared to walk on city sidewalks and streets, and some muddy creekside spots. The South Fork Long Walk includes two creek crossings and one steep trail section. NEW!
