Tiny Neighbors Teacher Workshop - FREE - in fact, you get paid! Thursday, September 25, 4:15-7:15pm Seattle 4th/5th grade teachers: are you looking for a reason to get out of the classroom with your students this fall? Would you like to extend the learning from the Microworlds Unit to a field-based science investigation? Here's your chance! Come to Homewaters Project's Tiny Neighbors Teacher Training Workshop and earn a $75 stipend. Up to 20 clock hours are available, along with support from Homewaters: planning help, 3 lessons, field equipment, and field assistance. Monday, September 29, 4:15-7:15pm 4th or 5th grade Seattle teachers using the STC Ecosystems science kit this year: take your students on a walkable field science exploration to reinforce concepts from this unit. You'll earn a $75 stipend + clock hours, + lessons to extend the classroom learning to the real world + Homewaters support with planning & teaching the investigation. Field-tested by nearly 300 students, this investigation makes strong real-world connections. Listen to a piece that KUOW radio did on this program. Join us to tour the whole South Fork or just a scenic section of it on our new 2-hour version. The full South Fork Long Walk from Northgate to Matthews Beach runs from 8:30am to 2:30pm Saturday, Sept. 27. Our new 2-hour walk will debut on Saturday, Oct. 11, starting and ending at Northgate.
